Flea Creek Campground

What is this track rated? (ratings guide)
Easy
Where is this track?
To the west of Canberra and actually in NSW, Flea Creek Campground is in the Brindabella National Park.
What are the road surfaces and conditions?
If you follow that attached KML or MKZ track maps from Canberra:
Everything up until you get onto Brindabella Road is sealed.
Of 23km on Brindabella Road the first 9.5km is sealed, the remaining 13.5km is well maintained dirt road (the condition varies depending on season and rainfall).
Gentle Annie Trail is typically a maintained fire trail but is also affected by rain and patterns of usage, it is steep'ish towards the lower sections but presents no real challenges.
What type of vehicle can you take?
Anything, but when you get to Gentle Annie Trail use your common sense. If you're in a 2wd or AWD vehicle and the track is wet, drive and descend according to conditions. Otherwise coming back up might present challenges.
What are the highlights?
The trip out on Brindabella Road becomes picturesque once you get past the sign welcoming you into Namadgi National Park.
About 2km down Gentle Annie Trail there is a great pull off on the left with a simply fantastic view down the Goodradigbee River looking north towards Wee Jasper.

What about the track?
A good beginners track with some lovey scenic views looking North along the Goodradigbee River towards Wee Jasper. Down at Flea Creek is typically quiet (except on long weekends and holidays) with good swimming to be had in the Goodradigbee River.
On the way down stop and take a speccy photo looking out along the Goodradigbee River (Google Map - Stretch Goal 4), maybe a photo with your rig in the background (or maybe even with your family who puts up with all your shit).
Keep in mind when you get down to the bottom of Gentle Annie Trail that the first little creek, Flea Creek, is not the river you are looking for, drive across Flea Creek (Google Map - Stetch Goal 1) and have a swim in the Goodradigbee River (Google Map - Stretch Goal 2).
Any car will get you down to the campground and unless it is super wet any car will get you back up and out of the valley.
What's the way back to civilisation?
The way out is back up the way you came in, or if you've got a spare half a day take Webbs Ridge Trail (Google Map - Stretch Goal 3) back to Canberra, or at least drive up the trail a km or two for the lovely views.
